THE JOURNAL

Booking Your Beauty Services

Bridal services are a special kind of luxury. The beauty industry has an amazing division of artists who exclusively specialize in wedding services. There are traveling professionals who will show up on site the day of for your hair and makeup. Before the big day, booking your nail technician for those flawless up-close bouquet photos is a must. Other types of details are becoming more popular. Brides often look into appointments for spray tans, eyelash extensions, eyebrow micro-blading, facials, massages, and so much more. With so many appointments, it can be hard who to choose as a quality beauty professional.

For day of services, you want to have a good relationship with your hair and makeup team. Booking an on-site hair and makeup team eliminates a lot of the stress of having to travel to and from a salon on your wedding morning. We recommend reaching out to a couple of different beauty teams and comparing their reviews. Looking into their artists’ portfolios is a must. Knowing who is going to arrive on your big day will put your mind at ease, knowing you will walk down the aisle looking flawless. Booking a trial is very important for this reason. You will meet your artist and have a test run of your hair and makeup. Be prepared to tell your artist about your skin and hair routine. Tell them what products you use and what skin type you have. This will allow them to customize their techniques to make sure everything stays put throughout the day.

Booking spa services may require a little more research. Have a manicure and pedicure done just a couple days before your wedding if you have a busy lifestyle so nothing chips. Facials should be done at least a week prior in case your skin has any type of reaction or redness. This is also a good time to get a haircut and color in. If you’re interested in more long-term services such as lash extensions, micro-blading, or any injections, consultations should be done at least two months in advance in case you require any touch up appointments.

The weeks leading up to your wedding may seem a little packed with appointments, but make sure you are also enjoying these days! Let yourself feel a little pampered even if you do have to fit a lot into a short time. You’ll be happy on your wedding day to wake up to perfect nails, skin, and hair. When your hair and makeup team arrive on wedding morning, it’s your job to sit back with a glass of champagne. Laugh with your girls. Let yourself be the center of attention!
